MotU Knock-offs (c.1984)
The only MotU knock-offs I ever owned. I don't know the names of the characters or toy line. It's probably something derivative, like Monarchs of the Universe, or Masters of the Cosmos, etc.
In all probability the human styled one is a Hero character and the snake-headed one an Evil sort. That's typically how things worked in the 80s. I kinda like them, though. They're fairly well-made, in general, and are pretty convincing from afar. Collectors will know no such characters exist in the MotU world, but a well-meaning friend or family member could be fooled by them.
The sculpts are fine; the plastic doesn't feel cheap; the joints are firm, etc. They're just a few millimetres shorter than a genuine MotU figure. They can hold MotU weapons securely, and they fit inside vehicles / mounts. The most notable difference from a genuine Mattel figure is that neither knock-off has the punching action. I'll add that neither of them stand up unaided, but that might be due to age; the rubber band that holds the legs together may have lost its original form. I don't recall if I was able to get them to stand up unaided back in the day.

And that's all I know for sure. If anyone has any info or pics of the line, I'd appreciate a share.
