MotU: Attak Trak - Battle Machine (1983)
It's Motorized!
Of the pics below, the first is an edited image from The Toys of He-Man and the MotU (2021), as published by Dark Horse (ISBN 1506720471). That's how an Attak Trak ought to look.
The remainder of the pics are of my own childhood toy. The rubber grips on its tracks have perished with age and are now completely absent, and some stickers dried up and fell off, but I popped two C cell batteries into it last week and was surprised to learn that it still works perfectly. I love how it moves - even if it is only in a straight line. Sadly, I no longer have the original box, but I do have the instruction manual; scans of it are are at the end of this post.

Brace yourself (hard) for the new movie's trailer. If you want to be particularly enraged, throw a look at the cast list on imdb. The things they need to fix, they never do. Endlessly insist on fucking with the things that are already awesome.
ReplyDeleteI did not intend on going full, 'Remember, Remember...' That was me~
ReplyDeleteEternia looked okay, the costumes seemed mostly respectful, and the transformation scene made me smile, but the chances that they won't screw it up outside of that are very, very slim. Modern Sword + Sorcery movies are rarely good; the genre needs people who care about it writing for it. Setting it partly on Earth again... did they not watch the previous movie?. 😂
DeleteOf the names I recognised, Race-swap Man-at-Arms is terrible casting; Baccarin as the Sorceress is worrying; and gender-swap Roboto is an odd choice. Leto, as mentioned previously, is mostly unknown to me. Maybe this'll be the movie that clues me into why he's so hated.
