MotU: Golden Books: Super Adventure Book
Soft Cover Editions (1983-86)

Most of what I know about the Masters of the Universe: Golden Books publications was learned from a Vaults of Grayskull page, which is also where the majority of the images used in this post were obtained, so all credit to the folks there for what's presented here. If seeing the covers collected on a blog is of interest to you, too, then proceed below the cut:

  1. Who are all the cover artists? They are great painters. I think some are by earl norem, but i dont see a name associated with the books that look like another artist....

    1. Hi, I'm sorry if it seemed that I was ignoring your question. I didn't know until today that it was asked. I wasn't aware that I'd comments turned on for this blog.

I don't know if you'll ever see this, but I've no further information on the books other than what's here and on the linked Vaults of Grayskull website. The images seem to be gone from there, sadly, at time of writing, so I'm really glad now that I added them here because they're fantastic works of art.

I noticed that the artist name you mentioned is on a few of the covers (The Mask of Evil / The Rock Warriors / Secret of the Dragon's Egg / The Magic Mirrors) and the VoG page for The Sunbird Legacy mentions him, also.

If ever I find anything else out, I'll add another comment. Likewise, if you've learned anything more, I'd love to hear of it.

PS. Google is being weird and won't let me respond under my profile name, hence the 'anonymous' moniker.

  2. UPDATE:

I noticed last night that 'The Masters of the Universe Book (2021)' [ISBN-13: ‎9780241467619] has a brief mention of the Golden Books series.

It lists Gino D'Achille as cover artist for The Sword of Skeletor.

There's also mention of the Princess of Power 'Golden Super Adventure' books, with an image of the 'Glimmer of Hope' book and an artist credit for Fernando Fernández.

(Slightly related: I learned also that Golden Books put out a Motu 'Giant Color / Activity Book' with cover art by Larry Elmore. I'd like to track that one down. It has a red dragon, if you're wondering.)
