Fighting Fantasy Quest Pack (1984)

Fighting Fantasy Quest Pack (1984)

The FFQP was a handy companion for players of the role-playing Fighting Fantasy gamebooks developed by Steve Jackson and Ian Livingstone in 1982, published by Puffin Books.

It's a box containing a pad of Adventure Game Sheets (like the standard one found in the books); two red-coloured HB pencils with the words FIGHTING FANTASY written in gold lettering (each with the kind of pink eraser that smudged as much as it erased); a pair of 6-sided die (unbranded); a small button badge with the FF logo in green, surrounded by the words 'PUFFIN GAMESMASTER' in black; and an iron-on transfer of a green dragon, with the words 'The World of Puffin Fighting Fantasy' in black text, above the dragon, within a red frame.

The box dimensions are approx: 23 cm (W) x 20 cm (H) x 2 cm (D).

I bought mine from a jumble sale sometime in the late 80s, iirc, so I don't know what the true RRP was, but it was probably more than its contents combined were worth because it was the 80s and that's how publishers roll. My box was missing the badge, but, amazingly, the transfer was still there, unused. (If anyone cares to know, my first ever FF book was 1983's The Forest of Doom; it was the first of many. I played the hell out of that book, and still have it. 🖉📖

NOTE: the pics of both the transfer and badge are from fightingfantasy.fandom.com. All other pics on this page are scans of my box items.
